Senior Staff

I want to share some words about Tammy. She is my executive assistant and literally my right arm here at Miami Missionary Tent. I wouldn't know what to do without her. (She told me to say that). She started with us in October 1997 and has been such a blessing. Working in bookkeeping, coordinating shipments all over the world and performing a multitude of other assignments we ask of her, Tammy stays very busy. She has been able to be "the rock" at Miami Tent.

Her husband is Jim. They have been married for 27 years and have two beautiful children, 21 & 16. She has been active in church all of her life and is a member of the local First Assembly of God Church. Tammy & Jim have taught the 2 years olds for 20 years now. That is a true calling. They have also been youth sponsors for 17 years as well. Jim is a deacon at church and is best known for playing Jesus in any and all performances. This is truly a family that is blessed by God. They are the kind of family every church is so grateful to have. So willing to give of themselves.

Tammy is a blast because she is this strong tall athletic woman who will run kicking and screaming at the sight or mere mention of a bug or spider. The crew has taken advantage of this fact more than a few times with varied pranks. You can imagine, fake spider on the keyboard, etc.. She is such a great sport about things like that. I think she knows this is simply there way of showing her love. She is a mother to all of us and greatly appreciated. Personally, she has been there for me through all of the good times as well as the difficult ones.

Tammy, you are the best. So glad you felt led to come work for us. I pray the Lord will continue to richly bless you and your family in all you are called to do.

Founder of Miami Missionary Tent

Hello everyone! This is the first of many blogs I will write concerning the man who founded Miami Missionary Tent. His name is Clair Eugene Tromsness. He was a mighty man of God. He was greatly loved and respected by everyone who knew him and he was my father. He graduated to heaven when he crashed in his Turbine Legend airplane on I-44 on April 28th, 2008. It was a shock beyond shock. It was within one mile from Miami Tent. He flew into "Glory". He was a wonderful husband to my mother Florence and father to his three children, Shirley, Liz and myself.

Growing up, my father moved around a lot and belonged to different churches because his father was in the construction business. He used carpentry skills learned from his father to pay his way through college and in the early 1960's, attended Berkeley Baptist Divinity School in California. But the more he learned, the more he doubted God's existence. There is much to share from this point to the humble beginnings of Miami Tent. I will save that for another time. I will just say that much prayer brought my father back to "Our Father". Praise the Lord for that. So many lives have been affected in a positive way because of my father's decision to extend his faith and grow closer to the Lord.

Although he really didn't want to get into manufacturing, he followed the Lord's leading and started Miami Tent in 1980.

He had a close relationship with many Assembly of God Missionaries. They needed a better tent to be used to plant churches. His skills learned in construction proved very helpful in the process of designing a better tent. The first tents went to places like Paraguay and Sierre Leone. We have now shipped tents to 135 different countries. Millions of people have come to know the Lord under these tents. What a vision! What a blessing!

Keep us in your prayers as we pray for God's favor to continue to draw customers to us. We are so thankful to all of our customers who have kept us busy and blessed for 30 years now.

Kind regards,

David Tromsness
