Desirae is back!

She had her beautiful baby boy Jayden on September 27th. We are happy to have her back and so are our customers. Desirae is an integral part of our staff and was missed. She quickly picked up the understanding of what makes our tents unique and much stronger than others, as well as being quite affordable. She has also done an excellent job in refining our advertising and dramatically increasing our marketing efforts.

So glad to have you back Des! Despite all of the tremendous responsibilities of being a mother, we pray each day will bring you joy upon joy with your precious new child.

Senior Staff

I want to share some words about Tammy. She is my executive assistant and literally my right arm here at Miami Missionary Tent. I wouldn't know what to do without her. (She told me to say that). She started with us in October 1997 and has been such a blessing. Working in bookkeeping, coordinating shipments all over the world and performing a multitude of other assignments we ask of her, Tammy stays very busy. She has been able to be "the rock" at Miami Tent.

Her husband is Jim. They have been married for 27 years and have two beautiful children, 21 & 16. She has been active in church all of her life and is a member of the local First Assembly of God Church. Tammy & Jim have taught the 2 years olds for 20 years now. That is a true calling. They have also been youth sponsors for 17 years as well. Jim is a deacon at church and is best known for playing Jesus in any and all performances. This is truly a family that is blessed by God. They are the kind of family every church is so grateful to have. So willing to give of themselves.

Tammy is a blast because she is this strong tall athletic woman who will run kicking and screaming at the sight or mere mention of a bug or spider. The crew has taken advantage of this fact more than a few times with varied pranks. You can imagine, fake spider on the keyboard, etc.. She is such a great sport about things like that. I think she knows this is simply there way of showing her love. She is a mother to all of us and greatly appreciated. Personally, she has been there for me through all of the good times as well as the difficult ones.

Tammy, you are the best. So glad you felt led to come work for us. I pray the Lord will continue to richly bless you and your family in all you are called to do.

Founder of Miami Missionary Tent

Hello everyone! This is the first of many blogs I will write concerning the man who founded Miami Missionary Tent. His name is Clair Eugene Tromsness. He was a mighty man of God. He was greatly loved and respected by everyone who knew him and he was my father. He graduated to heaven when he crashed in his Turbine Legend airplane on I-44 on April 28th, 2008. It was a shock beyond shock. It was within one mile from Miami Tent. He flew into "Glory". He was a wonderful husband to my mother Florence and father to his three children, Shirley, Liz and myself.

Growing up, my father moved around a lot and belonged to different churches because his father was in the construction business. He used carpentry skills learned from his father to pay his way through college and in the early 1960's, attended Berkeley Baptist Divinity School in California. But the more he learned, the more he doubted God's existence. There is much to share from this point to the humble beginnings of Miami Tent. I will save that for another time. I will just say that much prayer brought my father back to "Our Father". Praise the Lord for that. So many lives have been affected in a positive way because of my father's decision to extend his faith and grow closer to the Lord.

Although he really didn't want to get into manufacturing, he followed the Lord's leading and started Miami Tent in 1980.

He had a close relationship with many Assembly of God Missionaries. They needed a better tent to be used to plant churches. His skills learned in construction proved very helpful in the process of designing a better tent. The first tents went to places like Paraguay and Sierre Leone. We have now shipped tents to 135 different countries. Millions of people have come to know the Lord under these tents. What a vision! What a blessing!

Keep us in your prayers as we pray for God's favor to continue to draw customers to us. We are so thankful to all of our customers who have kept us busy and blessed for 30 years now.

Kind regards,

David Tromsness

Our Staff

After graduating from college in 1984, I had the opportunity to live and work in several states. I tried many different jobs; engineering recruiter, hospital admissions, private investigator along with multiple sales and marketing positions. It is so much fun trying to find out what you want to be when you grow up. Little did I know that everything I had done in life; sports, theatre, music, sales, marketing were all preparing me for what I do now. If you had told me I would be selling tents for a living I would have laughed at you.

In 1989, I felt led of the Lord to come home and work in the family business. The high quality tents being produced were a critical way for ministries to plant churches all over the world.

As the years have gone by, we have expanded our product line to include more tents for the commercial market. This has allowed us to triple our sales. Although I feel that our high quality pole tents will be needed for years to come by all of our customers, I believe they are needed most by the ministries. The ministries often need to leave their tents up year round. The tents are designed specifically to accomplish this. The tents are a tremendous tool for the gospel. A wonderful way to draw people in beyond the church doors.

Thank you to all our faithful customers and also to our future ones. We appreciate you more than you know.

Newest staff member

I want to share a few words about the newest member of our staff. Desirae has been with us for over a year now. She is a wonderful addition to MTC and is an exceptional worker. She is within a few weeks of having her first child. She will most likely be out for a few months. Sorry for those who have to talk with me instead. I have attached a picture of her from many months ago. She preferred I not take an up to date picture.

Desirae has quickly learned about our work here. She understands that we are not just manufacturing and selling a tent, but we are building as "unto the Lord". These tents are produced in such a way that they can survive severe weather and still be standing, so that the ministries can continue to preach under the tents and harvest souls for the kingdom.

Our customers often say how good it is to hear her voice and that she quickly takes care of their requests. This young woman has brought enthusiasm, intelligence and desire to work with her everyday. My prayer is that one day, she will be the lead person in sales for years to come.

Thank you for joining with us and our blog. I pray all of you are busy and blessed!

In Christ,

Hello everyone and God bless!

Despite the economy we are busy and blessed here at Miami Missionary Tent. It is such a joy to visit with ministries and business people all over the world. Our most recent shipments have gone to such a variety of locations: Nigeria, Montana, South Dakota, Arizona, Greece, Virginia, California, Alabama, Canada, Washington, New Mexico, Tennessee and Florida. You just never know. I remember a very unique sale was back in 1999. As the millennium approached, a group from Norfolk Island contacted us for a tent. Norfolk Island is right above New Zealand. They are right next to the time line and would be one of the first to celebrate the "New millennium". They told me they chose our company over 45 others from around the world. What an honor and privilege to be chosen from such a huge group. They said the "quality of construction" and our "customer service" is what set us apart from the others. The entire Island gathered together around their huge tent to welcome in the new year! We thank the Lord daily for the sales that come in. Let us know if we can be a part of your ministry or business by building the strongest, most reliable and longest lived pole tent in America.
