Sun is shining after a wonderful and much needed rain. We had gone through 40 days of 100+ temperatures.

We have had a great year here at MTC. We are currently building a 100' x 210' rectangle for Ukraine. It will be used for a variety of things; soup kitchen, meetings, teaching, etc.. So thankful for all the good work we have despite a very tough economy.

We are still on a three year old price list. Great time to purchase a tent. As promised, I am going to share more about the founder of Miami Missionary Tent, my father, Clair Tromsness.

At age 4, Clair felt God's call upon his life. As a young man he entered seminary to prepare for the ministry. He recalled that while there he became agnostic. He tried for 5 years to overcome his agnosticism. He finally left seminary and went to school at Stanford University where he received a master's degree in English. Clair taught college classes in Miami, Oklahoma for 16 years. During this time he was spiritually hungry but was unable to satisfy that hunger.

Then in 1971 he met some Pentecostal Christians who showed him the church of Jesus Christ was alive and vibrant today. Through the faithful prayers and witness of these men, he gave his life to the Lord.

In 1978 the Holy Spirit began to tug gently at his heart. He knew a change was forthcoming. He had met Assemblies of God Missionary-Evangelist Mike Hines. A licensed pilot, Clair had been flying to Central America during summers doing volunteer missions work. His friendship with Mike and the Lord's leading eventually contributed to a change in his life.

In 1980 Mike called Clair and explained he was planning on holding Good News Crusades throughout Paraguay. He said the Assemblies of God Division of Foreign Missions wanted 50 tents for those crusades. Mike asked if he knew of anybody who could build these tents. Clair felt quickened in his spirit and told Mike he would do it. He had spent the summer before in Central America helping make tents but he knew those tents were leaky and poorly designed. He knew the Lord was calling him to build the best tents possible for His work. He resigned from the college and the rest is history.

Miami Missionary Tent has shipped tents to 135 countries and possessions around the world. Millions of people have accepted Christ as their personal Savior under our tents. I can't wait to see what God has planned for Miami Missionary Tent next.

In Christ,

David Tromsness
Sales Manager
Miami Missionary Tent
129 S. I pray you have been busy and blessed! God has blessed us with many sales this year. We just loaded a 40’ container full of 44 tents and 4 pallets of food/supplies for Haiti. This effort was coordinated with Global Aid Network which is part of Campus Crusade for Christ International. Thank the Lord for the benefactor’s involved to purchase all of this. The tents will be used as long as possible for churches. This is the second large order we have shipped to Haiti.

In the last few years we have added many new countries to our list of where our tents are being used including Armenia, Botswana, India, Mongolia, Belgium, Zimbabwe and Israel. One of our tents was actually set up on the Mount of Olives in Israel. A local tried to set the tent on fire by throwing a Molotov Cocktail Bomb on it but it simply burned a small hole in the tent and the services went forward. Praise the Lord!

I can’t begin to express what a blessing it is to play our part in the Lord’s ministry with the tent. So many incredible people from around the world are called into the tent ministry. It is not an easy thing to do but the Holy Spirit moves in such an awesome way under the tent. There is such a freedom there and it allows for a “neutral” place for people to meet.

Thanks to all of you who think of Miami Missionary Tent and keep us in your prayers. There is still much to do before the Lord returns. I pray the Lord will continue to richly bless all of you.

In Christ,

David Tromsness
Sales Manager
Miami Missionary Tent
129 S. Our Founding Fathers delivered to us a system of government that has enjoyed unprecedented success: we are now the world's longest ongoing constitutional republic. Well over two hundred years under one form of government is an accomplishment unknown among contemporary nations.

While we have much to admire and love and be thankful for in being able to call America our home, our nation is rapidly drifting from its biblical foundations. Our freedom to serve God and to promote the gospel in our land is disintegrating. There is a great spiritual battle going on that is threatening our country, our families, and our lives. Only God's intervention will return America to solid footing and restore a moral nation that righteousness will exalt.

We must Pray - Our founding fathers knew the power and purpose of prayer
We must Process - Have a better understanding of our laws and governmental processes
We must Participate - This is the key for change and success
We must Persevere - The battle is not always won by the strongest or the smartest but by those who persist and persevere

This blog was taken from or inspired by the book "In God We Still Trust" by Dr. Richard G. She is my executive assistant and literally my right arm here at Miami Missionary Tent. I wouldn't know what to do without her. (She told me to say that). She started with us in October 1997 and has been such a blessing. Working in bookkeeping, coordinating shipments all over the world and performing a multitude of other assignments we ask of her, Tammy stays very busy. She has been able to be "the rock" at Miami Tent.

Her husband is Jim. They have been married for 27 years and have two beautiful children, 21 & 16. She has been active in church all of her life and is a member of the local First Assembly of God Church. Tammy & Jim have taught the 2 years olds for 20 years now. That is a true calling. They have also been youth sponsors for 17 years as well. Jim is a deacon at church and is best known for playing Jesus in any and all performances. This is truly a family that is blessed by God. They are the kind of family every church is so grateful to have. So willing to give of themselves.

Tammy is a blast because she is this strong tall athletic woman who will run kicking and screaming at the sight or mere mention of a bug or spider. The crew has taken advantage of this fact more than a few times with varied pranks. You can imagine, fake spider on the keyboard, etc.. She is such a great sport about things like that. I think she knows this is simply there way of showing her love. She is a mother to all of us and greatly appreciated. Personally, she has been there for me through all of the good times as well as the difficult ones.

Tammy, you are the best. So glad you felt led to come work for us. I pray the Lord will continue to richly bless you and your family in all you are called to do.

David Tromsness
Miami Missionary Tent
129 S. This is the first of many blogs I will write concerning the man who founded Miami Missionary Tent. His name is Clair Eugene Tromsness. He was a mighty man of God. He was greatly loved and respected by everyone who knew him and he was my father. He graduated to heaven when he crashed in his Turbine Legend airplane on I-44 on April 28th, 2008. It was a shock beyond shock. It was within one mile from Miami Tent. He flew into "Glory". He was a wonderful husband to my mother Florence and father to his three children, Shirley, Liz and myself.

Growing up, my father moved around a lot and belonged to different churches because his father was in the construction business. He used carpentry skills learned from his father to pay his way through college and in the early 1960's, attended Berkeley Baptist Divinity School in California. But the more he learned, the more he doubted God's existence. There is much to share from this point to the humble beginnings of Miami Tent. I will save that for another time. I will just say that much prayer brought my father back to "Our Father". Praise the Lord for that. So many lives have been affected in a positive way because of my father's decision to extend his faith and grow closer to the Lord.

Although he really didn't want to get into manufacturing, he followed the Lord's leading and started Miami Tent in 1980.

He had a close relationship with many Assembly of God Missionaries. They needed a better tent to be used to plant churches. His skills learned in construction proved very helpful in the process of designing a better tent. The first tents went to places like Paraguay and Sierre Leone. We have now shipped tents to 135 different countries. Millions of people have come to know the Lord under these tents. What a vision! What a blessing!

Keep us in your prayers as we pray for God's favor to continue to draw customers to us. We are so thankful to all of our customers who have kept us busy and blessed for 30 years now.

Kind regards,

David Tromsness
Miami Missionary Tent
129 S. I tried many different jobs; engineering recruiter, hospital admissions, private investigator along with multiple sales and marketing positions. It is so much fun trying to find out what you want to be when you grow up. Little did I know that everything I had done in life; sports, theatre, music, sales, marketing were all preparing me for what I do now. If you had told me I would be selling tents for a living I would have laughed at you.

In 1989, I felt led of the Lord to come home and work in the family business. The high quality tents being produced were a critical way for ministries to plant churches all over the world.

As the years have gone by, we have expanded our product line to include more tents for the commercial market. This has allowed us to triple our sales. Although I feel that our high quality pole tents will be needed for years to come by all of our customers, I believe they are needed most by the ministries. The ministries often need to leave their tents up year round. The tents are designed specifically to accomplish this. The tents are a tremendous tool for the gospel. A wonderful way to draw people in beyond the church doors.

Thank you to all our faithful customers and also to our future ones. We appreciate you more than you know.

David Tromsness
Miami Missionary Tent
129 S. Desirae has been with us for over a year now. She is a wonderful addition to MTC and is an exceptional worker. She is within a few weeks of having her first child. She will most likely be out for a few months. Sorry for those who have to talk with me instead. I have attached a picture of her from many months ago. She preferred I not take an up to date picture.

Desirae has quickly learned about our work here. She understands that we are not just manufacturing and selling a tent, but we are building as "unto the Lord". These tents are produced in such a way that they can survive severe weather and still be standing, so that the ministries can continue to preach under the tents and harvest souls for the kingdom.

Our customers often say how good it is to hear her voice and that she quickly takes care of their requests. This young woman has brought enthusiasm, intelligence and desire to work with her everyday. My prayer is that one day, she will be the lead person in sales for years to come.

Thank you for joining with us and our blog. I pray all of you are busy and blessed!

In Christ,

David Tromsness
Miami Missionary Tent
129 S. It is such a joy to visit with ministries and business people all over the world. Our most recent shipments have gone to such a variety of locations: Nigeria, Montana, South Dakota, Arizona, Greece, Virginia, California, Alabama, Canada, Washington, New Mexico, Tennessee and Florida. You just never know. I remember a very unique sale was back in 1999. As the millennium approached, a group from Norfolk Island contacted us for a tent. Norfolk Island is right above New Zealand. They are right next to the time line and would be one of the first to celebrate the "New millennium". They told me they chose our company over 45 others from around the world. What an honor and privilege to be chosen from such a huge group. They said the "quality of construction" and our "customer service" is what set us apart from the others. The entire Island gathered together around their huge tent to welcome in the new year! We thank the Lord daily for the sales that come in. Let us know if we can be a part of your ministry or business by building the strongest, most reliable and longest lived pole tent in America. Kind regards, David Tromsness Miami Missionary Tent 129 S.
